East Park Run – Saturday 22nd February 2020
Having her plans to compete in the English Cross Country Union National Championships, at Nottingham’s Wollaton Park, thwarted by travel problems 16 year old Ella Shaw Hall instead made the much shorter trip to East Park to test her fitness over 5km in the weekly Park run. Despite the strong winds Ella sliced 13 seconds off her previous best time to record 20 min 19 sec, crossing the line as the first female competitor, and finishing 18th overall from a field of 603 runners. Ella will now return to cross country racing with the Inter Counties championships in Leicestershire & the English Schools Championships on Merseyside being her next two outings.
